Actual Honey is run by Matt Truscott. This page explains what personal information the site holds, why, and for how long. Questions? Email info@actualhoney.net.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries (talks and bespoke honey): the details you give us, so we can reply and arrange things with you.
- Comments: your name, your comment and, optionally, your email (never shown) so we can tell you about replies. We also keep your IP address for a short time to deal with abuse.
- Newsletter: your email address and a record of when and where you agreed to hear from us, so we can prove your consent.
- Accounts: your name, email, a securely hashed password and a history of sign-ins, to keep your account secure.
- Likes: an anonymous random ID in a cookie, stored only as a one-way hash, so each person can like a comment once. We don't store your IP address for likes.
How long we keep it

Photos
Location and camera data (EXIF) is removed from every photo uploaded to the site.
Analytics
We don't use Google Analytics or any advertising trackers.
Your rights
If you have an account you can download all your data or delete your account at any time. Comments are kept but anonymised when an account is deleted. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. For anything else, including access, correction or deletion requests, email info@actualhoney.net. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers to run the site: web hosting, email delivery, image storage, and Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam on our forms.
